"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17.
We all have stories that make up our lives. In many parts of the world people’s stories begin in a place of hardship. Poor health care, illiteracy, hunger and poverty are a regular part of life. Many believe that these hardships are their ‘lot in life’ and that basic human rights and justice are not for them. Through God’s grace however, many of these men, women and children are able to take steps to improve their lives and change their stories of hardship into ones of greater well-being.
Every day World Renew sees people rewriting their stories from poor health to greater healthiness, from illiteracy to education and from lack of food to greater abundance. But these changes are not just material ones.
Jesus is the greatest story-changer. By reminding people of their worth and value to God and that Jesus came not only to save the world but also to bring his kingdom here on earth, World Renew equips people to change their stories and their lives for the long-term.
By participating in this year’s World Hunger Campaign, you share in this story-changing work. World Hunger month begins next Sunday, Oct 30 with the distribution of the Peter Fish and devotional materials and ends on Sunday Nov. 20, culminating with a Special Offering for World Renew along with our annual “Cookies for Kids” event hosted by SONLiFE.
