After the disastrous flood of June 2013 DRS has been involved in reconstruction from January 2014 to the present.  The site is almost in the home stretch but there are many who are still waiting on repairs to their home. DRS anticipates closure of this beautiful site in late September, 2015 if all the scheduled works gets done on a timely basis. You read that correctly, there are home owners still waiting for DRS teams to provide them the hope and assistance they need for recovery. There are not a lot of other options for them.

 Many of our volunteers have been so dedicated to this community and have returned on assignment more than once. Others have voiced the desire to volunteer but schedules don’t always come together.  If you have never before volunteered with DRS we encourage you to register with our Grand Rapids office and to consider signing up for one, two or three weeks anytime now until the Fall. This need is urgent and real. Please don’t assume someone else will fill the teams. Should that someone be you? There is a place for those who are skilled, unskilled, cooks, general helpers, etc. We simply ask that you prayerfully consider how God can use you to bless others in High River, Alberta.
