Azusa Mexicali Day 3
We made it! Today we left LA and crossed into Mexicali. Everything went very smooth and we settled right into the camp.
On the highways into Calexico, the border town, we saw many other vans packed with luggage and teenagers heading here as well. There are over 300 people here this week. 2 of the other churches here are some of our sister churches from Abbotsford, so it is nice to see some familiar faces.
We arrived at camp and immediately began setting up our tents. We threw down a tarp to set up on, just to keep the dust our, and battled the wind for 45 minutes to get our tents up and pegged down.
Next to the camp, there is a little local market that is set up for all of us to shop at. There are vendors selling tacos, churros, blankets, and much more.. It was quote a treat to eat some authentic tacos and churros!
The evening wrapped up with chapel and small group time and everyone headed to bed.
Tomorrow we head to church, the church that we will be serving at all week. It will be neat to experience church in a different language.
Thank you for your prayers!
