Offering for weeks 3 & 4 of November:

The special offering for the last weeks in November is for the Ministry to Seafarers which is a ministry dedicated to enhancing the lives of Seafarers regardless of race, religion, gender, or rank. Through ship visiting advocacy, hospitality showing and sharing Jesus's love by caring for their physical, emotional, spiritual, and justice needs. Gary Roosma is currently serving as the chaplain for the Port of Vancouver, which not only involves visiting cargo ships in port, but also serving seafarers in the ministry centres.

For nearly 5 decades the Ministry to Seafarers has received its primary financial support from the 2 BC Classes, with added support from individuals and some additional offerings from individual churches throughout Western Canada. Over the next couple of years this situation will be changing, as the classes restructure their finances. Therefore, if this ministry is to continue, we will need a dramatic increase in the number of offerings received from churches, so please consider giving to this special offering.

* The Deacons do two Special Offerings per month, World Renew - World Hunger will run for the first two weeks, with the Ministry to Seafarers for weeks 3&4. You are invited to give to either or both offerings as they will both be available on tithe.ly for the whole month of November! *
