Well…we’re back from conference and we are energized!!  Being connected with over 350 women from other GEMS clubs all over North America and seeing their passion was an inspiring experience for both of us.  Feeling refreshed after energized praise and worship sessions, challenged by five amazing speakers and inspired through workshops, we are “on fire” to get the fall season underway.  We have walked away with a better sense of direction for Willoughby Church's GEMS club and a renewed calling to reach into the lives of the girls that are connected to our GEMS program. Our theme verse for this year will be John 3:30 – “ He must become greater; I must become less”.  This is a message that  our girls need to hear and embrace in today’s culture where they are told to put “self” first.  We are so blessed that our church family supported us to attend this conference.  THANK-YOU!

We humbly ask that you prayerfully consider supporting us in a different way by becoming part of our GEMS team.  Psalm 145:3-4 says, “Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.  One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.” The GEMS girls are that next generation and they need mentors that will share with the girls their love of God.  We were struck at the age range of conference attendees.  There were teen counselors-in-training, women who were retired and the whole range in between.  Some of the women had been helping with GEMS for 30+ years (don’t worry we won’t expect you to help for that long!) neither do you need to be a “craft superstar” to help. Everyone has their gifts/talents that they can offer in their own unique way.  If you have a passion for God and the willingness to share this with our GEMS girls, please prayerfully consider this important ministry and come join us as we speak truth into the lives of these girls.  If you have any questions about what is involved, please don’t hesitate to email us at gems@willoughbychurch.com
