On September 16-18, the Youth 180 year kicked off with an overnight retreat at Brae Island Regional Park in Fort Langley. We're not too sure who had more fun, the leaders or the youth, but either way the weekend was a BLAST. Friday night we created our team t-shirts as the rivalry between the Purple People and the Blades began with team chants. The highlight of the weekend took place on Saturday afternoon as the sun came out just in time for “Secret FUN TIME” in the mud pit! The youth were curious, but very trusting, as they were blindfolded and guided down to the giant mud pit and surprised with a tug of war! Everyone was thrown into the mud pit or river at some point, so we warmed up around the fire before we created our individual BBQ pizzas for dinner, played Dutch blitz and ended off the day with campfire worship and mofia. Thanks to everyone for attending, we're pretty sure we've created a Willoughby Youth tradition!
