This month is World Hunger Month at Willoughby Church. With the impact of climate change, outbreaks of violence around the globe, and the COVID-19 pandemic, the needs surrounding global hunger are greater than ever. Nearly 1 billion people -that’s 1 in every 8 persons - are currently struggling to find access to safe and nutritious food. Families struggle to place food upon their tables. They don’t have enough to eat today. And they don’t know that they will have anything to eat tomorrow. Because God’s table is a table of plenty, he asks us to do our part. By giving to World Renew, you can help families put food on their tables and bring God’s love to all.
There are a number of ways to engage in the topic of world hunger with your family:
1. Download one of the attached devotional books - there is one for adults/older children and one for younger children - to help you dig deeper into the topic of hunger and think about your table as well as tables around the world and the families that gather around them.
2. View Food Security? (also attached below), a short video published by Canada Foodgrains Bank (a partner of World Renew). This excellent 2-minute video explains our shared goal of food security for all.
