On Sunday, March 16, from 4:30 – 6:00 pm, the Blanket Exercise will be held here at Willoughby Church. The Blanket Exercise walks participants through the history of relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.  Much of the content is written by Indigenous people and helps participants understand why reconciliation is needed and how to take steps toward reconciliation and new relationships.

This event is hosted by the Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation, a local initiative supported by Willoughby Church. The exercise will be led by Bridget Findlay, MCC BC Indigenous Neighbours Coordinator, and Sto:lo elder Patti Victor.

This in-person experience is free of charge and open to anyone 11 years of age (Grade 5) or older. Please register by clicking the link below, as space might be limited.

For more info contact Evelyn Bouwman or Liz Tolkamp.

Please bring a large throw-type blanket for this exercise.
